An exciting CREATIVE course – it allow learners to learn to use sugar as a creative medium to develop and to practise Sugarcraft and Cake Decoration skills to further develop their knowledge and understanding of the foundation skills and techniques in Sugarcraft, Cake Decoration and Design principles to development, enhancement and confidence building.
The qualification will focus on four units, two of which are
mandatory in ‘Design’ and ‘Sampling Ideas in Sugar Mediums, together with ‘Royal Icing Techniques’ and ‘Create a Botantical Sugar Floral Study' - skills set also includes an introduction to Cover a Cake with Sugarpaste, Create a wired Sugar Floral Spray; Marzipan Modelling; Decorative Techniques using Pastillage, flowerpaste, Chocolate & Creams, and much more with lots of hints and tips during 90 hours of professional tuition…

Who is the qualification for?
This qualification is suited to those learners who want to further enhance their hobby/interest and potentially use as a basis for self-employment (set up own business, thus give credibility), OR work or want to work in cake decoration (a bakery or junior chef) – it also forms a great stepping stone to those who wish to progress to Level 3 and further develop their skill set to potential competition level.
City & Guilds is a recognised world-wide qualification – no other qualification offers the same credibility!
Entry & Registration requirements
City & Guilds Level 1 Sugarcraft Certificate (with ‘Pass’) entry requirements are required to support your registration.
Day & Time
1 year, September to June commencing TUESDAY, 19 SEPTEMBER 2017 (30 weeks, ending 12 June 2018) - bookings now being taken...
£9 per hour approx. Total: £835 plus C&G fees, with a deposit of £150 payable upon completion of registration form to secure your place, the balance payable by 4 September 2017. Payment made via Internet Banking/BACS, details to be provided, along with our Terms & Conditions applicable – copy provided with registration form.

What’s not included
•City & Guilds registration certificate/award/verifying fees… cost to be advised upon application.
Specialist sugarcraft and cake decoration equipment, tools and materials required to fulfil the course year, together with appropriate protective clothing, i.e. apron, closed in shoes etc. – an outline guidance list will be provided upon completion of your registration form, allowing you to research and buy cost effective equipment and tools prior to course start.
Refreshments: it is the responsibility of the students/learners to bring appropriate refreshments to be consumed during the break time allotted. Coffee, tea & milk provided.
